7/12/2020 0 Comments Shades of Grey About Forgiveness:I think forgiveness has been misunderstood.
Forgiveness is not for the perpetrator, but for the health and healing of the "victim"/survivor. One can forgive an others actions within their heart, and still hold the person accountable for their choices. There are consequences within every action. (Possibly even some jail time, or a lot depending on the actions.) The act of forgiveness is not about allowing a wrongdoing to go on, or letting it go unpunished. Forgiveness is about releasing the persistent pain associated with that wrongdoing. A healing must take place within to allow one to remain functional. This release is NOT an endorsement of the unacceptable behavior endured; it is to allow for the sufferer to no longer continue being victimized.
